The NCEA Conference is FREE, there is no registration fee for attending the NCEA Conference on Ethics in America. Student and Faculty delegates will need to pay for their own travel arrangements to and from West Point but free shuttle service from and back to Newark Airport and Stewart Airport will be provided. We will also provide free shuttle service from and back to the hotels for the faculty delegates. Lodging is free for student delegates but faculty delegates will need to book and pay for their own rooms and we can provide you with a list of preferred lodging choices.

Student delegates will have the unique opportunity to be hosted in cadet rooms in one of the nine cadet barracks. Cadet rooms are, in general, significantly larger than average college dorm rooms. Each room has its own sink, with common bathroom facilities located in each hallway. Showers are similar to those in athletic locker rooms. Shower shoes are highly encouraged.

Faculty delegates will need to book their own room for their stay at West Point for the NCEA Conference but all meals are included for both Student and Faculty delegates.

Automobile travel is authorized. If you travel by automobile to West Point, you should travel through Highland Falls and enter by Thayer Gate. You will then need to park your vehicle in the Buffalo Soldier Field parking lot (on the left immediately after the gate). Your vehicle will remain parked there for the duration of your stay. The lot is constantly patrolled by Military Police and is very secure. Necessary transportation is provided by West Point and you should not expect to use you vehicle during the conference. You will be allowed to retain your car keys. Once parked, call the Central Guard Room (CGR) at 845-938-3030 and the duty driver will come pick you up and bring you to Cullum Hall, Bldg 605, for inprocessing.

As a delegate at NCEA, you will be treated as a guest of West Point. We will do everything feasible to make your stay as pleasant as possible. However, we ask that you follow those rules which are conducive to good order and respect for cadets and other delegates. Cadets will be courteous and professional toward you at all times, and ask only the same in return.

Each school is allowed to register 2 student delegates for the conference. There will also be a limited number of faculty delegates hand selected by SCPME for the conference and each school can submit 1 faculty delegate. Based on availability, we will allow additional delegates but only after all other shcools have the opportunity to register their own delegates. These additional delegates will be added at the discretion of SCPME and we will notify each school after a decision has been made to allow the additional delegates to attend the conference. Delegates will be put into a small group setting with peers to discuss various topics relevent to previously attended sessions and asked to discuss and share their thoughts while being facilitated by an assigned group mentor.

No. The student delegates will have several chances to gather in a social atmosphere and interact with cadets.

During the conference appropriate civilian attire should be worn and during the banquet all delegates should wear semi-formal attire. ROTC and Cadets can wear the military equivilant, Class A's or suit.

Believe it or not, this really is a common question. USMA cadets, as well as the cadets from the other academies, are like students at any university. While West Point focuses on producing leaders of the highest character for our nation's Army, cadets are not "brainwashed" or "robots." As an institution of academic excellence, West Point encourages all manner of ideas and discussions among students, guests, and faculty alike. You will likely find that cadets have very different opinions about the same subjects which concern students at traditional colleges and universities.
