5/4/2011 - Undersecretary of the Air Force Erin Conaton congratulates members of the 52nd Fighter Wing from Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, on receiving the 2011 Commander in Chief's Installation Excellence Award. The award, created in 1984, recognizes "the outstanding efforts of the people who operate and maintain Department of Defense installations, and effectively use their resources to support the mission," according to the Air Force secretary and chief of staff's announcement for the award. The award presentation took place May 3, 2011, during a ceremony in the Pentagon. (U.S. Air Force photo/Scott Ash)
