While in Indonesia, Secretary Clinton affirmed her support for the recently launched Partners for a New Beginning (PNB) local chapter. On July 5, 2011, members of the Indonesian business community announced the formation of the Indonesian chapter of PNB. PNB’s local chapter in Indonesia is Chaired by Asep Sulaeman from Exxon Mobil and Vice-Chaired by Imelda Adhisaputra from Intel, Tri Mumpuni from IBEKA, and Titie Sadarini from The Coca-Cola Company.

Through its work with PNB Indonesia, ExxonMobil has committed to expand access to education and leadership opportunities in Indonesia with a focus on the country's youth. In partnership with the Sampoerna Foundation, ExxonMobil has committed $3 million over the next 3 years to support long-term, high-impact programs to reach young people who need it most. The programs are designed to educate future leaders and position them to make a positive impact on the future of Indonesia.

Partners for a New Beginning (PNB) is a collection of public-private partnerships committed to broadening and deepening engagement between the United States and local communities in support of President Obama’s June 2009 Cairo speech in which he called for a New Beginning based on mutual interest and respect. PNB is chaired by former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, The Coca-Cola Company Chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent, and Aspen Institute President and CEO Walter Isaacson. PNB works with partners in locally-owned and locally-driven chapters around the world -- including Algeria, Indonesia, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Pakistan and the Palestinian Territories -- in order to foster partnerships that address local priorities.
