Guide to the
2002 Economic Census
INTRODUCTION
The Economic Census provides a detailed portrait of the Nation's economy once every
five years, from the national to the local level.
The 2002 Economic Census covers nearly all of the U.S. economy in its basic collection
of establishment statistics. There also are several related programs, including statistics
on minority- and women-owned businesses. Censuses of agriculture and governments are
conducted at the same time.
Results from the census were issued on the Internet and on DVD-ROM during 2004
through 2006. No reports were issued in print.
This Guide primarily describes the data published from the 2002 Economic Census.
For information about data to be published from the 2007 Economic Census, see
the Guide to the 2007 Economic Census.
