NAVAL REPLENISHMENT

Okinawa, Japan (Nov. 27, 2006) - Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Pecos pulls alongside amphibious assault ship USS Essex to provide the ship with diesel fuel marine and jet propulsion fuel during a replenishment at sea near Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 27. Essex is the Navy's only forward deployed amphibious assault ship and is the flagship for the Essex Expeditionary Strike Group based in Sasebo, Japan.
