SSG John Martin talks about leaving for next deployment the day after returning from his first deployment. Important to have time with family. His family gives him reason to be in the army. Proud mom - army helped give him a good life.

Cathy: When I got back from my first deployment in Saudi, I got back at midnight and I signed out on leave at 6:00 the next morning.
John: Well, homecomings are wonderful, that's the best part. Especially when you have a dual military couple like my son and his wife. It was very important for him to have that time with them.
Cathy: Having my two daughters, it's a lot easier to justify deploying. You know why you're doing it. I mean, you know what it's for. And you can look at a picture of them and you can say 'I'm doing this for them.'
John: I'm very proud of him. I'm very proud of him. He's made quite a life for himself, and the Army's been a big catalyst to that.
