9/5/2012 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- Intelligence officers interested in leadership, command and developmental opportunities have until the second week of October to prepare an application and statement of intent, which are due to the Air Force Personnel Center by Oct. 12, AFPC officials said.

The Intelligence Officer Fall Developmental Team will convene Oct. 30 - Nov. 2 to consider applicants for director of operations, wing senior intelligence officer, detachment commander, regional affairs strategist and junior officer cryptologic career program opportunities, said Maj. Nicole Francis, intelligence assignments professional development chief.

Nominating authorities may nominate as many qualified officers as they choose, Francis said, but are encouraged to nominate only those who possess the qualities required for the positions.

"Nominees should possess exceptional leadership skills, set the example through unquestioned integrity and professional competence, have the ability to motivate others, demonstrate concern for and interest in subordinates, exhibit excellent mentoring skills, and possess drive and initiative," she said. "All leadership positions are fraught with heavy responsibilities, and candidates must be up to the task to be successful leaders in this career field that is so critical to our national security."
