Celebrating the Accomplishments of America’s Public Servants

The Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals (Sammies) pay tribute to America's dedicated federal workforce, highlighting those who have made significant contributions to our country. Honorees are chosen based on their commitment and innovation, as well as the impact of their work on addressing the needs of the nation.

Thank you for helping us recognize the unsung heroes in our federal workforce by nominating them for the 2013 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals (Sammies)—the most prestigious national awards program honoring federal employees. The finalists will be announced and recognized during Public Service Recognition Week (May 5-11). The 2013 finalists are contenders for eight Service to America Medals, including Federal Employee of the Year. Medal recipients will be announced on October 3 at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.

More information about the 2013 finalists’ achievements will be available in early May. If you would like to receive an email notification when the nomination cycle for 2014 opens, please email Amy Doggett at sammies@ourpublicservice.org

The Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals are presented annually by the nonprofit, nonpartisan Partnership for Public Service to celebrate excellence in our federal civil service.
