Emergency Management

In tornado and hurricane prone areas, safe rooms have become an integral part in protecting lives and preventing serious injuries when violent storms occur.

The Ohio Safe Room Rebate Program was developed by the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to provide a rebate to Ohio homeowners for the purchase and installation of safe rooms.

Safe rooms designed and constructed in accordance with FEMA publications 320 and 361 provide “near absolute protection” from extreme wind events.

Ohio homeowners interested in participating in the rebate program need to apply on Ohio EMA’s website: https://ohiosharpp.ema.state.oh.us/ OhioSafeRoomRebate/.
