This position is located in the Regional Response Coordination Center (RRCC), Disaster Operations Directorate, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The RRCC maintain as all-hazard 24/7 watch operation and has a vital role in establishing and implementing national priorities and strategies to respond to disasters and other national emergencies.
This position is ideal for the candidate who wants to maintain a national situational awareness of the Agency's operational status to monitor emerging incidents or potential incidents with possible operational consequences, and to execute field actions.
This position starts at a salary of $50,620 (GS-9) with a promotion potential to $95,429 (GS-12). Apply for this exciting opportunity to become a member of the Region III, Regional Response Coordination Center.
PROMOTION POTENTIAL: This position has promotion potential to the GS-12 grade. Future promotions will be dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and administrative approval.
EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: FEMA employees are subject to 24 hour on-call in the event of any emergency. This service may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites that require functioning under intense physical and mental stress.
