Paktia Provincial Reconstruction Team Visits Remote Village
The Paktia provincial deputy governor, a council member and senior religious leader traveled by helicopter Feb. 15, 2009 over snow-covered mountains to a remote village in the Jani Khel district northeast of here to meet with the locals and promote peace within the tribe.

Provincial Reconstruction Team Works With Afghans
Paktia provincial Deputy Governor Abdal Rahma Mangal opens the contractor’s conference, Feb. 7, 2009, at Gardez City, near Forward Operating Base Gardez. Paktia Provincial Reconstruction Team members took a back seat at the meeting, pushing local government officials to the forefront in hopes of them eventually taking a larger role in awarding contracts.
