On October 8 and 9, 2008 the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will hold two separate open houses to hear comments from the public on the draft 15-year Comprehensive Conservation Plan and Environmental Assessment for the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.

The 1997 National Wildlife Refuge System Improvement Act requires the Service to develop a Comprehensive Conservation Plan for every unit in the refuge system.  Once completed, the plan will guide administration and management of Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge for 15 years.  The Service looks forward to meeting with the public and hearing comments on this planning effort and resulting draft document.
