Beaver Street Fisheries, Inc. Issues Alert on Undeclared Sulfites in Sea Best Brand Shrimp Skewers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- November 6, 2008 --- Beaver Street Fisheries Incorporated, located at 1741 W. Beaver Street Fisheries, FL, 32209, is recalling SEA BEST brand Shrimp Skewers because the product contains undeclared sulfites. People who have sensitivity to sulfites may run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.

This alert only pertains to the Sea-Best brand Shrimp Skewers that are sold in a 1.5 lbs box, and are Product of China. This alert does not pertain to any other Sea-Best product.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of sulfites in Sea Best brand Shrimp Skewers which were not declared on the label.
No illnesses or reactions have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

Consumers who have purchased Sea-Best brand 1.5 lbs Shrimp Skewers labeled as Product of China are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800 874-6426.
