Communities of Practice Program

The Communities of Practice Program is located within CDC’s Office for State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support (OSTLTS). The Program provides expertise and resources necessary to support  Communities of Practice within public health. Services provided by the Program may include logistical, strategic, and educational support for Communities of Practice to support the mission of CDC: “collaborating to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health.”

The primary objectives of the Communities of Practice Program are to establish a conceptual framework for Communities of Practice within the public health arena; support community communication and collaboration; and enable the dissemination of best practices and lessons learned within individual CoPs to the larger public health community.
