Gain Support

Gaining support from senior management is important to ensure that organization policies are in place and financial resources are available for your program.30 When CEOs embrace health as a priority, the rest of the organization is more likely to do the same.31

Therefore, it is important to present senior management with a strong business case to build support for any worksite obesity prevention and control program.32 This can include the following–

  • Reasons why such a program would benefit the company.
  • Benefits of physical activity and good nutrition.
  • Specific costs to your organization of physical inactivity and poor nutrition.
  • Principles to guide the program, recommended scope and objectives of the program, and cost of the recommended program.
  • Measures, outcomes, evaluation, and anticipated overall results.32

You can use this Business Case PowerPoint* (PPT-734k) as an example to help you present your program to senior management.
