Ryan Newman: Speed is one of the ultimate top goals in racing, but hitting top speeds at a race track requires diligent preparation by every member of the US army racing team because no two tracks are exactly alike.
Preparation is everything. When it comes to the US Army soldiers, the brave men and woman our team represents at every race, they depend on the realistic cutting edge training of the army to complete missions safely. When your job involves unforeseen challenges on a daily basis, solid training ensures a successful mission on minimizing risks. The success of the US army Chevrolet really all depends on the people. People at the racetrack, what we do and our engineering meetings and our staff meetings.
Everything we talk about is all about making the racecar go faster. It's all about team work, what we can do to make the tires grip better, what we can do to make the car have more down coarse have less drag, make more horsepower. The way it drives and the way it steers. It's all about what we can do as a group to make the most out of this US Army Chevrolet. Success whether on the racetrack, in the army, or in everyday life, is contingent upon the proper training and preparation.
Preparation is often the difference between success and failure. Soldiers do not accept defeat, and are fully prepared with the mental, physical, and emotional strength like no other. The difference is completing a mission. At the racetrack it can be a difference between taking a checkered flag or wrecking in the opening laps. Coming from a driver and a team that prepares better than any others at the track, I can honestly say the Army prepares its soldiers better than any other employer in the world. Resulting in a team that succeeds where others are enable.
