International Affairs is one of seven major program areas within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, a Department of the Interior bureau. The Department of the Interior is a cabinet-level agency responsible for conserving America’s natural resources.
 
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is dedicated to the conservation, protection, and enhancement of fish, wildlife and plants, and their habitats. It is the only agency in the federal government whose primary responsibility is the management of these important natural resources for the American public. One aspect addressed by the Service is international conservation, which is administered by International Affairs.
 
International Affairs works to conserve living resources around the world by working with people to conserve nature and regulating international wildlife trade.
  
The Division of International Conservation implements the Wildlife Without Borders program and its signature initiatives. Wildlife Without Borders helps local people to value and conserve the world’s most treasured wildlife and habitats. We do this through Species, Regional, and Global programs.  

The Division of Management Authority (DMA) and the Division of Scientific Authority (DSA) work together to implement domestic laws and international treaties that promote the long-term conservation of plant and animal species by ensuring that international trade does not threaten their survival in the wild.
