Which species are listed?

To find out which species are listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Appendices, go to the CITES Species Database. You can search the database in two ways – by country and by species:

  1. From the CITES Species Database.
  2. Under the column "Search by country", select the country of interest from the pull-down menu.
  3. Select "Go."
  4. A list of all CITES-listed species native to that country is provided. Select any species of interest for more information.

To search by species: There are several ways to search for a specific plant or animal. Here is one way:

  1. From the CITES Species Database.
  2. Under the column "Search by name", select "Genus" and then select “Find It.”
  3. Type in the genus of the species of interest and select “Search.”
