About the Southeast CSC
Location: North Carolina State University
Established: September 2010
Point of Contact: Dr. Gerard McMahon, Director
The Southeast Regional Climate Science Center (SE CSC) was established by the Department of the Interior in 2010 to address the needs of natural and cultural partners for climate science in the Southeastern United States. Science products developed at the SE CSC will provide models of potential future climate impacts, assessments of likely impacts, and tools that can be used to inform the conservation management decisions of Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCCs) and other partners.
The SE CSC is one of eight Climate Science Centers managed by the National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center (NCCWSC), under the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The NCCWSC and USGS support the Northwest Climate Science Center in producing partner-driven science and management tools. The SE CSC also receives advice and guidance from a Stakeholder Advisory Council. Science priorities and projects will also be advised by a Science Implementation Panel.
