U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will join Wendy Spencer, CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service, for a conversation about service, volunteerism and education at the Points of Light Institute’s national conference, “Celebrating the Power of Service in Education.” The discussion will take place on Tuesday, June 19, at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago. It will be moderated by Soledad O’Brien, special correspondent and anchor for CNN, and will address how community service and volunteerism are essential forces to propel improvement of our nation’s lowest-achieving schools.
