FDA Basics Webinar: Melamine: The Cause of the Pet Food and Infant Formula Recalls

Did you know that FDA regulates that can of cat food, bag of dog food, or box of dog treats or snacks in your pantry? In March 2007, FDA learned that certain foods were sickening and killing cats and dogs.

On Tuesday, November 30, at 2 p.m. ET, FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine hosted a 30-minute webinar on "Melamine: The Cause of the Pet Food and Infant Formula Recalls". Featured speaker Renate Reimschuessel, Research Biologist from the Division of Animal Research, Center for Veterinary Medicine, discussed how FDA investigated and found contaminants that were imported into the United States and used as ingredients in pet food.
