To whom it may concern:

The ninety-five (95) members of the West Hartford Fire Department Local 1241, I.A.F.F. STRONGLY oppose the Federal Trade Commission proposal to "water down" the criteria for use of "Made in USA" on product labels and in advertising.

The proposed changes would make the "Made in USA" label a fraud on the American public and accelerate the export of U. S. jobs.

We fully support Resolution 80, co-sponsored by Rep. Jim Maloney and Rep. Sam Gejdenson, which calls on Congress to maintain the current "Made in USA" standard and urges the FTC to refrain from lowering the standard at the expense of consumers and jobs in the United States.

Sincerely ,

Brian P. Tierney, President
