Neil's pilot training in the Army helped him reach his dreams of becoming a pilot for American Airlines.

My name is Neil Raaz, I learned to fly in the U.S. Army and I'm a pilot with American Airlines.
I entered the Army as a 09W MOS, a Flight Candidate, went through pilot training and flew helicopters for the Third Infantry Division.
I had grown up watching my dad, who was a helicopter pilot, and had great visions of one day filling his shoes. And when I graduated pilot training for the U.S. Army, he was the one to pin the wings upon my chest. That was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
The Army gave me the tools and the skills to succeed in life. The leaders that I worked for taught me how to be, and become a leader. The Army is the best experience I have ever had. If you're up to the challenge, the Army is a great place to kick off your life.
