The Top Ten

The Top Ten teams in the Stars and Stripes' weekly Far East high school football ratings, with records through Sept. 22, points and last week’s rating, as compiled by Dave Ornauer of Stars and Stripes sports. Ratings are based on teams' win-loss records, quality of wins, strength of roster, schedule and leagues, point differential and team and individual statistics. Maximum rating is 500 points:

Okinawa
Kadena at Kubasaki, 7 p.m.—It’s being said that the winner of the Dragons and Panthers season series will face Yokota for the title. But whom? … Panthers 18, Dragons 14.
Guam
Simon Sanchez at George Washington, 7 p.m.—Dare we believe it can happen, that the Geckos can lose … *gulp* … three of their last four? … Sharks 21, Geckos 16.
Southern at John F. Kennedy, 7 p.m.—Winner of this one escapes the Interscholastic Football League basement. … Islanders 7, Dolphins 6.
Saturday
Robert D. Edgren at Daegu, 6 p.m.—Must-win for each team seeking to avoid tie-breaker hell and a road trip to play the D-II title game. … Eagles 17, Warriors 10.
Guam
Father Duenas Memorial at Guam High, 7 p.m. – Somehow, I don’t think the Panthers will end up with an emotional hangover after their seminal win at Kubasaki. … Panthers 22, Friars 12.
