Lt. Gen. Loren M. Reno is Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. General Reno is responsible to the Chief of Staff for leadership, management and integration of Air Force logistics readiness, aircraft and missile maintenance, civil engineering and security forces, as well as setting policy and preparing budget estimates that reflect enhancements to productivity, combat readiness and quality of life for Air Force people.
General Reno received his commission in 1974 as a graduate of the Officer Training School. He graduated from undergraduate navigator training in 1974. He has had assignments in flying operations, training and logistics. His staff tours include duty at Headquarters Military Airlift and Air Mobility Commands, the Air Staff, the Secretary of the Air Force Office Legislative Liaison and the Defense Logistics Agency. General Reno has commanded two aircraft maintenance squadrons, a technical training group, and the Defense Fuel Supply and Defense Energy Support centers. He flew four missions into Saigon, South Vietnam, in 1975, and led air mobility logistics support for operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He has served as Vice Director, Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, Va. Prior to his current assignment, General Reno commanded the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.
