| Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta meets with Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping in Beijing, China, on Sept. 19, 2012. Panetta and Xi are meeting to discuss regional security issues of interest to both nations. Panetta visited Tokyo, Japan, before continuing to Beijing and will travel to Auckland, New Zealand, on a weeklong trip to the Pacific.
