The Reports Consolidation Act of 2000 requires the OIG to identify and report annually on the most serious management challenges facing the U.S. Department of Education (ED). We provide this information to ED, the Congress, the general public, and the press through our annual Management Challenges reports. Each of our reports includes detailed information on each challenge; an assessment of ED’s actions and plans; and further actions ED needs to take to further address the challenge.
