locations of national forests and grasslands along with contact information.
Available from forest service offices.
FOREST VISITOR MAPS
"Visitor Maps" for each national forest and grassland
provide forest-wide information on attractions, facilities, services,
and opportunities . These maps are available to purchase from individual
forests, the National
Forest Store and many retail outlets. The most comprehensive
source for maps is the US
Geological Survey.
MOTOR VEHICLE USE MAPS
The following motor vehicle use maps have been prepared and issued under 36 CFR 212.56, and identify those roads, trails, and areas designated for motor vehicle use.
TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS
"Topographic Maps" provide the greatest level of detail and only cover small portions of a forest. These maps are available to purchase from many individual forest offices, and many retail outlets, or for purchase or download online from the US Geological Survey store.
SPECIALTY MAPS & BROCHURES
Many specialty maps and brochures are available from individual
forests
and the National
Forest Store covering specific trails, Wilderness Areas and
other special areas. The US
Geological Survey also sells many other map products covering
the national forests and grasslands.
MAP SERVICES
A collection of map services is available that allow you to view map images of Forest Service data from agency databases.
