Mr. Duncan: Are you willing to support the Response To Intervention program to assist struggling students rather than channeling them into the existing Special Education program?
What dialogue is happening with teacher prep programs to include college and career readiness as a part of the training for future k-12 teachers?
How many percent of public school teachers are high qualified for the position?
Will your student loan website be fixed by then or are you planning to talk about how you are going to fix it at this conference call: http://www.ed.gov/blog/2011/10/ed-working-to-resolve-problems-with-direct-loan-website/
Hello Mr. Duncan
I am wondering how you feel about tracking students according to their perceived ability on a state standardized test. Do you believe in ability grouping and there being 4 or 5 “tracks” at the middle school level?
Thank you,
I think that it’s a little ironic that you must use things like twitter and facebook, when these are commonly blocked in schools.
Twitter and Facebook are the wave of the future. Besides, who is at school at 5:00pm anyway? It’s crazy because if it was held at a particular location, you would complain that the location isn’t convienient for you. Complainers will always find something to complaint about…..
I beg to differ (and am not a complainer”) lots of us truly dedicated, hard working teachers are at school at 5:00 p.m. (in spite of having a life, family, etc.) and later sometimes, aside from taking papers to grade @ home, etc., that’s those opf us with a “true calling” of course, (with ALL due RESPECT)!
)
Renee, Linda has an excellent point. 5:00 eastern would be what time across the U.S.? Lot’s of us work in schools where we don’t have access to Twitter.
I’m a student and I’m at school past 5 most days so….
