Innovation Action Council

Note: EPA no longer updates this information, but it may be useful as a reference or resource.

The Innovation Action Council (IAC), comprised of EPA's top career executives -- Deputy Assistant Administrators and Deputy Regional Administrators -- has overall responsibility for formulating and advancing the Agency's innovation agenda. The mission of the IAC is to develop and promote innovative approaches to addressing increasingly complex environmental challenges. Established in the Fall of 1996, the IAC has played an active role in giving new innovative approaches the attention and support they need to flourish, and has provided a venue to share innovation efforts more broadly. In April 2002, the IAC supervised the development and publication of the Innovation Strategy, a guide to the next generation of innovation at EPA.
