Do you think cloning is a good idea?If so why?      Lauren Doyle, M.S.: I am currently split between prenatal (clinical and research), neurology and cancer clinics, so I see a broad base of patients on a weekly basis. In addition, I have completed a number of lectures and in-classroom activities about basic genetics to local schools and for other health professionals. I think there are a number of ethical issues regarding cloning that make it a difficult scientific process to navigate. Personally, I think we might be better off focusing our efforts on streamlining the process generating organs, skin, etc, through stem cells than on cloning.
