The U.S Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) share the responsibility for administration of the Endangered Species Act. This responsibility includes the listing and recovery of species, designating critical habitat, maintaining a list of candidate species for listing and working with partners to conserve these species, consulting with other Federal agencies to ensure their activities do not jeopardize listed species, and issuing permits for the take of listed species. |
