About the Nevada Fish and Wildlife Office

The Nevada Fish and Wildlife Office’s mission is to conserve the natural biological diversity of the Great Basin, eastern Sierra and the Mojave Desert. We work closely with many partners to conserve and recover Nevada native species throughout the state.

The headquarters office for the Nevada Fish and Wildlife Office is located in Reno, Nevada. As the headquarters for the State Supervisor, staff provides support on budget administration, external affairs, and information technology.

We have ecological services staff in both northern and southern Nevada. The Northern Nevada Ecological Services Office is located in Reno, Nevada, and the Southern Nevada Field Office, is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The primary program areas in the ecological services offices include: aquatic invasive species, desert fish recovery, desert tortoise recovery, ecological services, environmental contaminants, and Partners for Fish and Wildlife.

Our Lahontan National Fish Hatchery Complex staff is located in Reno, at the Lahontan National Fish Hatchery in Gardnerville, Nevada, and at the Marble Bluff Fish Passage Facility at Pyramid Lake. This integrated fisheries program implements recovery activities for Lahontan cutthroat trout and cui-ui and provides technical assistance to tribal, state, and federal agencies.
