For each of the years listed above, a single grant under the We the People program was made to the Center of Civic Education in Calabasas, California.

For 2009, a total of 712 teachers who attended a 2008 professional development summer institute that is part of the We the People program were surveyed on line or by telephone.  Fifty-six percent of teachers (or 401 teachers) surveyed responded to the survey.  The survey contained fourteen questions that were used to assess participating teachers’ perspectives about the extent to which this professional development opportunity improved the quality of their instruction after returning to the classroom.

A similar process was used to collect and report data from prior years.
