U.S. Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (USEITI)
The U.S. Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (USEITI), a voluntary, multi-national framework for transparency in reporting revenues received for oil, gas and mineral extraction, is developed through a multi-year, consensus-based process by a multi-stakeholder group comprised of representatives from government, industry and civil society. Thus, the USEITI multi-stakeholder group will be responsible for the design of the U.S. framework and its implementation. For more information click here.
The FY 2012 Budget in Brief document summarizes and highlights the programs of the Department of the Interior and its FY 2010 President's budget request.
FY 2011 Agency Financial Report (AFR)
The FY 2011 AFR provides important financial and performance information for the Department of the Interior. It is our principal publication and report to Congress and the American people on our stewardship, management, and leadership of the public funds entrusted to us. The fiscal year 2011 AFR included the Department's 15th consecutive unqualified (i.e., favorable) audit opinion from KPMG LLP (KPMG), an independent certified public accounting firm.
The audit reflects the collaborative efforts of nine separate entities working together to produce a report that demonstrates the results achieved for 70,000 Interior employees.DOI's AFR includes two new features:
Government Performance and Results Act Strategic Plan
- A Cost-Benefit schedule showing the costs of individual Interior bureaus compared to the values the bureaus provide.
- A video with Assistant Secretary Suh discussing the highlights of Interior's efforts and financial achievements.
The Department's FY2011 - FY2016 strategic plan is the linchpin that integrates DOI management. The plan organizes the Department's goals and department-level performance measures into four mission areas, with bureau inputs, outputs, and actions linked to these measures. Bureau plans tier from this cohesive framework.
