Wendy J. Olson
Wendy J. Olson was sworn in on June 25, 2010 as United States Attorney for the District of Idaho. She joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office in March 1997. As an AUSA, she prosecuted health care fraud, sexual exploitation of children and criminal civil rights case. She was also part of the three-person team that tried the capital sentencing hearing in United States v. Joseph Duncan. Ms. Olson served as Senior Litigation Counsel at the time she was appointed United States Attorney by President Barack Obama. Ms. Olson previously served as president of the Idaho Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and was on the Board of Directors of Idaho Women Lawyers..
Ms. Olson graduated from Drake University in 1986 and Stanford Law School in 1990. From 1990 to 1992, she worked as a law clerk for Chief United States District Court Judge Barbara J. Rothstein in Seattle, Washington. From 1992 to 1997, Olson served as a trial attorney for the Criminal Section, Civil Rights Division in the U.S. Department of Justice.
Ms. Olson is a native of Pocatello, Idaho. Ms. Olson now lives in Boise, is married and has two children.
