The Office's major special programs and initiatives include:
Victims of crime may experience feelings of confusion, frustration, fear and anger. The Office's Victim/Witness Unit is dedicated to making sure that victims of federal crimes and their family members are treated with compassion, fairness and respect.
Project Safe Childhood (PSC) is a Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 that aims to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation crimes against children. The threat of sexual predators soliciting children for physical sexual contact is well-known and serious; the danger of perpetrators who produce, distribute, and possess child pornography is equally dramatic and disturbing.
Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee
The Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (LECC) sponsors and co-sponsors training seminars for federal, state and local law enforcement agencies addressing a variety of subjects.
Weed & Seed is a national initiative by the Department of Justice to "weed" out crime in a targeted community and then to "seed" that area with positive resources designed to permanently uplift and improve the quality of life for its children and families.
Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN) is a nationwide commitment to reduce gun and gang crime in America by networking with existing local programs that target gun crime and providing these programs with additional tools to be successful.
Community Outreach highlights some of the volunteer service programs that office staff participate in to give back to the communities the office serves.
