The pit stop is the one time during the race where every single member of the crew is in full operation.

Tony Gibson: The pit stop is the one time during the race where every single member of the crew is in full operation. For the number 39 U.S. Army Chevrolet Impala SS, the pit stop captures the perfect reflection of Army Strong Soldiers leveraging teamwork. The pit stop will make or break the success of our mission - winning the race. Our goal is to execute a pit stop in 13 seconds, let see what it takes.
When the car comes in for a pit stop, the crew jumps over the wall, goes to the right side immediately. The jack man gets the car up in the air to remove the tires, reinstall the tires on the hubs, the jack drops, they all four run around to the left side. Jack goes up, same procedure on the left side as they did on the right. When they're all done, the jack man drops the jack and off goes the car.
The team's dedication to speed and teamwork earned us the Tissot Pit Road Precision Award at the April 18th NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Phoenix. Just like the U.S. Army Soldier, each member of the Army race team never accepts defeat and always places the mission first.
