Continuing Education Credits
MILVAX CE Credits

The Military Vaccine Agency has coordinated Continuing Education credits for a number of the training courses available from Immunization University. We are working to expand the amount and types of CE credits offered.

The courses currently offering CE credits include:

Immunization Basic Course

We have partnered with the Navy Medicine Manpower, Personnel, Training & Education Command to offer Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credits for completion of our Immunization Basic Course (IBC). The credits are available after completing the entire 8 hour course and course evaluation. Per the tri-service agreement from the Council on Federal Nursing Service Continuing Education which became effective 1 September 2007, nurses of all three branches may now receive contact hour credits when attending a presentation by another service.

We have also partnered with the Air Force, Army, and Navy to provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) after completion of the IBC.

Continuing Education for Nurses

The Navy Medicine Manpower, Personnel, Training & Education Command is an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Continuing Education for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)

The Air Education and Training Command, the Department of Combat Medic Training (DCMT), and Navy Medicine Manpower, Personnel, Training & Education Command are accredited to approve EMT CEUs.

All presenters of the Immunization Basic Course have indicated that they have had no significant financial relationships with a commercial entity whose products/services are related to their topic subject matter.

We have teamed with the U.S. Army EMS Program to offer continuing education credits for completion of our Immunization Leaders Course (ILC). These credits are available after completing the 3 day course and course evaluation.

The U.S. Army EMS Programs Management Division is accredited as a provider of continuing education credits by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.

DoD Online Smallpox Vaccination Training

We have partnered with the U.S. Army EMS Programs Management Division to offer 2.5 continuing education unit (CEU) hours for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). The credits are available after completing the eight modules of the Smallpox Online Training.

Project Immune Readiness

The Project Immune Readiness program offers continuing education (CE) credits for nurses and physicians. Earn 2.0 credit hours per course; with 26 courses available, that’s up to 52 credit hours. Other accreditation opportunities are being pursued and will be available soon.

Continuing Medical Education Credit for Nurses (CNE) - Contact Hours

The Walter Reed Health Care System has awarded this educational activity 2.0 contact hours per course. There are twenty-six training courses available, so you can earn up to 52 credit hours. The Walter Reed Healthcare System is approved as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the Army Nurse Corps, which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

    As a sponsor accredited by the ACCME, it is the policy of the U.S. Army Medical Command to require the disclosure of the existence of any significant financial interest or any other relationship a faculty member or a sponsor has with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial product(s) discussed in an educational presentation.
