Welcome to St. Catherine Creek National Wildlife Refuge
St. Catherine Creek National Wildlife Refuge, operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, was established in 1990 and is one of over 520 Refuges in the United States. The Refuge is located on the Mississippi River just South of Natchez, and presently is comprised of 24,442 acres.
The refuge was established to:
- Provide and maintain optimum habitat for migratory waterfowl in the Mississippi Flyway;
- Provide habitat and protection for endangered species including the Bald Eagle;
- Provide habitat for a natural diversity of wildlife and plant species;
- and Provide opportunities for wildlife oriented recreation and environmental education
