VERA, VSIP round two application period ends Friday by Debbie Gildea Air Force Personnel, Services and Manpower Public Affairs 1/31/2012 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- Applications for voluntary early retirement authority and/or voluntary separation incentive pay consideration must be submitted this week at bases that are still accepting applications, Air Force officials said. Early retirement and separation incentives are part of ongoing measures used to help maintain civilian funding at fiscal year 2010 levels, officials said. Servicing civilian personnel sections sent surveys to eligible civilians starting Jan. 9. Applicants approved for VERA or VSIP this round will be notified mid-February, and will be required to separate from civil service by April 30. Every base manages its own program, officials explained, so Airmen should first contact their local civilian personnel section for more information.
