Store

A store consists of the colliding proton and antiproton particle beams. It is established by injecting bunches (shots) of protons and antiprotons into the TeV. It becomes a store once all bunches of protons and antiprotons are accelerated to 980 GeV, circulating, and ready to be brought to collision. A normal store consists of 36 bunches of protons and 36 bunches of antiprotons (36x36), but a store can contain fewer bunches. Sometimes an injection problem will lose a shot of protons or antiprotons. The Recycler provides all the antiprotons.
