Profile Model Tutorial (PMT)

The Profile Model Tutorial (PMT) illustrates how stem profile models are used in volume estimation procedures. PMT incorporates some of the profile models that are part of the USDA Forest Service's National Library of Volume Estimators (NVEL). PMT allows you to change many of the default settings that are normally fixed as part of the volume estimators used in other programs, such as the National Timber Cruising Program (NATCRS) and the Forest Vegetation Simulator (FVS). Version 2.0 of PMT incorporates the profile models from Region 2, Region 5, and BLM in Washington and Oregon. Profile models from other Regions will be added to future versions.
