About Wyoming District Office
The Wyoming District Office (WDO) is located on the fourth floor of the federal building in downtown Casper and is responsible for delivery of SBA programs in the State of Wyoming. The WDO is staffed with six full-time employees that are trained in SBA programs. The average length of service for our staff members is over 12 years. The office is open to the public from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm daily. Parking is available on city streets surrounding the building.
Wyoming covers 97,914 square miles, with 58% of the land owned either by the State of Wyoming or the federal government. About 42% of the land is privately owned. Wyoming's current population is about 470,000. The state's two largest cities are Casper and Cheyenne, each with a population around 50,000.
By any measure, small businesses are critical to the economic well-being of Wyoming. They create new businesses (and the new jobs that go with them); bring new and innovative services and products to the marketplace; and provide business ownership opportunities to diverse (and traditionally under represented) groups. Not only do small businesses play a critical role by efficiently reallocating the state's resources and injecting new ideas into the economy with business starts and stops, but their diversity and composition provide the work force with many opportunities.
