Job Description
Tenure and Non-Tenure Track Faculty Openings

The Boston University School of Social Work invites applications for 3 faculty positions, including both tenured, tenure-track and non-tenure track openings.

We seek candidates with teaching skills, research/scholarly expertise, and practice experience in one or more of the following areas: • Macro/Community Practice (Associate Professor with tenure) • Clinical Practice (tenure-track) • Clinical or Macro/Community Practice (non-tenure track clinical appointment)

Applicants for tenured and tenure-track positions must have a PhD or equivalent, evidence of strong teaching and research skills, and a record of publication. Candidates for non-tenure track positions should have an MSW or equivalent (a doctoral degree is desirable), evidence of strong teaching skills, and scholarly interests in social work practice and pedagogy. Candidates for positions in Clinical Practice and Macro Practice should have at least 5 years of full-time post-masters practice experience (or the equivalent).

Located in an unusually rich academic community, Boston offers excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with universities, community organizations, health and mental health settings. Special areas of expertise within the school include community organizing, planning and management, health and mental health, aging, children and youth, trauma and families, substance abuse, and public health social work.
