Registration Information Sources
General
- Child-Resistant Packaging
(CRP) for Pesticides - The CRP web area is intended for pesticide
registrants and product manufacturers to meet criteria on household pesticides
for child-resistant packaging. Registrants and manufacturers are legally
required to meet the EPA standards.
- Web-distributed labeling - As part of a series of initiatives to improve pesticide labeling, EPA is working to design a new system for delivering product labeling to pesticide users.
Reference
- Food and Feed Commodity
Vocabulary - This reference provides a standardized source of names for commodities
of interest in pesticide regulation. Each lookup term is assigned an EPA
preferred term, an EPA (40 CFR 180.41) crop group name/number, and a monograph
number where further information about a specific commodity can be found.
The preferred term will be the only term accepted in establishing pesticide
tolerances.
- Pesticide Registration Manual (Blue Book) - The manual is a resource for companies and individuals who want to have their pesticide products registered for sale in the United States. It describes EPA's review and decision making process for registering a pesticide product and its use. Detailed information for pesticide registrants (the company or individual applying to register a pesticide) concerning their responsibilities before, during and after the review process is also included in the manual.
- Label Review
Manual - The manual was developed as a training tool and guidance for reviews of
pesticide product labels. The goals are to improve the quality of labels
and increase the consistency of reviews. The manual describes what a pesticide
is and what constitutes a label and labeling and also provides step-by-step
instructions for reviewing a pesticide label and how unique issues have
been handled in the past.
- Pesticide Use Site Index - This Index provides information on pesticide use sites and pesticide major use patterns, key information needed to complete the registration process.
Information on Registered Pesticides
- Chemical Search is a new, web-based application designed to provide users easy access to published regulatory and scientific information on pesticide active ingredients. This applications uses a simple search engine to easily locate a wide variety of published information, including significant regulatory decisions, reviews of scientific studies that support registration decisions, reregistration and registration review information, and opportunities for public comment. The application also includes a number of links to other valuable sources of information including tolerance or maximum residue levels, and reference information from other EPA programs and other federal agencies.
- Data Submitters List - This is a compilation of names and addresses of pesticide registrants
who wish to be notified and offered compensation for use of their data.
It was developed to assist pesticide applicants in fulfilling their obligation
as required by sections 3(c)(1)(f) and 3(c)(2)(D) of the Federal Insecticide,
Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and 40 CFR Part 152 sub part E
regarding ownership of data used to support registration.
- Labeling Consistency - Pesticide product manufacturers, applicators,
state regulatory agencies, and other pesticide stakeholders often raise
questions or issues about pesticide labels. The Pesticide Product Registration
Ombudsmen are responsible for addressing questions that are specific
to a particular product. Other
questions might relate to multiple products or address inconsistencies
among product labels. EPA has established a process for dealing with
such broad, cross-cutting questions.
- National Pesticide Information Retrieval System (NPIRS) - NPIRS contains technical registration information on pesticide products.
- Pesticide
Product Information System (PPIS) - PPIS contains information concerning
all pesticide products registered in the United States. It includes registrant
name and address, chemical ingredients, toxicity category, product names,
distributor brand names, site/pest uses, pesticidal type, formulation
code, and registration status. The PPIS are ascii files. Interested parties
may access them using a variety of database and spreadsheet software.
- Pesticide Product
Label System (PPLS) - PPLS is a collection of images of pesticide labels
which have been approved by the Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP). The
label images are indexed by EPA registration number and the date on which
the label was initially registered or amended.
- Suspension of Registrations Under FIFRA Section 3(c)(2)(B) Web page provides information to assist EPA and state enforcement staff in their efforts to ensure that suspended pesticide products are not being illegally marketed. Pesticide product registrations currently suspended are listed which include product, registrant, suspension date, and contact information.
