Z. Q. John Lu

John Lu is a mathematical statistician at NIST since 2001. His main research activity has been collaborating with NIST scientists in various disciplines to solve measurement science problem using innovative statistical techniques.

Technical Areas of Research and Consulting:

  • Quantitative image analysis (medical CT and optical images)
  • Shape statistical analysis
  • Functional data analysis and statistics
  • Bayesian statistics
  • Collaborative research, applications of statistics to materials science, physical sciences, and biosciences
