The Deployment Stress Management Program (DSMP) is located in Mental Health Services within the Office of Medical Services and provides information, education, referrals, initial assessment and brief treatment for problems related to the stress of deployment to high threat areas, unaccompanied tours, overseas crises and other stressful situations encountered by Foreign Service Officers, family members and State Department employees overseas. The DSMP works in cooperation with the Foreign Service Institute Transition Center, the Family Liaison Office, the Employee Consultation Service and other Federal Agencies to provide support for DOS employees and their families before, during, and after deployment.

Director
Oversees the development and implementation of the Deployment Stress Management Program. Provides assessment and treatment services to State Department employees experiencing the effects of being assigned to high stress / high threat / unaccompanied tours (HS/HT/UT).

Clinical Social Worker (2 Positions)
Provides education/training, prevention, assessment and treatment services to State Department /USAID employees experiencing the effects of being assigned to high stress / high threat / unaccompanied tours (HS/HT/UT).

Administrative Assistant
Provides administrative support to the Director and Social Workers and serves as general office manager.
