Historical Information
The Office of Strategic Environmental Management (OSEM) was formerly the National Center for Environmental Innovation (NCEI). NCEI promoted innovative approaches for better environmental results through pilot testing, evaluation and diffusion in partnership with other EPA programs and regions, states, businesses, communities and other interested parties. NCEI focused on:
- Promoting environmental stewardship across society
- Creating a results-oriented regulatory system
- Building capacity for innovative problem solving
