Recovery Act in the Rocky Mountain Region

Recovery Act LogoGSA was appropriated $5.5 billion under the Recovery Act to convert federal buildings into high-performance green buildings, and build new energy-efficient federal buildings, courthouses, and land ports of entry. These projects will deliver lasting progress towards modernizing our nation's infrastructure, reducing the federal government's consumption of energy and water, and increasing our use of clean and renewable sources of energy. Furthermore, it will allow GSA the use of green technologies by creating jobs in emerging green industries and driving the growth and innovation that will ensure American leadership in the new energy economy of the future.

The Rocky Mountain Region received $426,527,000 in Recovery Act funding.  The funds are distributed among 20 projects including one new construct, 15 limited scope projects and four modernization projects throughout Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.  Projects were selected based on their potential energy savings and the speed of delivery.
